Mike Barclift, ChFC®, CLU®, AEP®

Mike Barclift is a North Carolina native, born in Fort Bragg, NC into an Air Force military family. He was a career Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy before entering the financial services profession. Mike has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and employs a values-based financial planning process to help families make smart choices about their money so they can live their lives on their own terms and spend time with the people they care about most. Focus areas of his practice are:

• Integrating personal wealth, workplace benefits, and government entitlement programs into a complete picture of a household’s financial situation.
• Working closely with client tax, legal, and benefit advisors when to reduce the stress and workload on clients when transitioning from full-time work into retirement.
• Development of charitable giving strategies that help people serve their community today and leave enduring and impactful legacies in the future.
• Preparing households for transitioning their wealth to the next generation.

Mike's favorite pastimes are sailing and alpine skiing with his family and friends. He reads extensively, favoring military history, biographies, and science fiction. He and his wife, Jane, enjoy traveling together on road trips, staycations in the local area, and visiting their son Cameron and other family members around the country.
